H.P. Lovecraft was an American writer born on August 20, 1890, in Providence, Rhode Island. He is best known for his unique contributions to the horror genre, particularly cosmic horror. Lovecraft’s works often explore themes of forbidden knowledge and the insignificance of humanity in the vast universe. His most famous stories include "The Call of Cthulhu," "At the Mountains of Madness," and "The Shadow over Innsmouth." Despite facing limited recognition during his lifetime, Lovecraft's influence has grown significantly after his death on March 15, 1937. Today, he is regarded as a foundational figure in modern horror literature and has inspired countless authors and filmmakers.
